The basic principles of investing are not difficult. The problem is that they didn’t teach them to us in school. When we seek out the information as adults now, most of it seems confusing. There is so much information on the web that it is tough to make sense of it all. It’s hard to find the right people to ask questions about investing. Finding the right investment manager is hard and if you do end up talking to one, chances are they will use lingo that you don’t really understand, making you feel stupid, poor, or both.
The vision of this workshop is to enable you to make the right decisions for your money. The reality is that the pace of financial innovation is so fast that it is impossible even for professionals to be knowledgeable about everything. Understanding enough of the basic principles so you can ask the right questions is the key. This ability will help you make investing decisions for the rest of your life - whether you are trying to save enough to pay off student loans, to buy a home, for your kid's college tuition, or for retirement. Learning the concepts to really understand investing is tough because numbers, investing, money, can seem pretty intangible.
