Diane
Zipper of the Renewable Northwest Project, will lead a discussion on
renewable energy and sustainability in Oregon. Beyond general
information on what it is and where it's in use, she'll show us what
makes Oregon a leader in sustainability issues and discuss current
legislative initiatives around renewable energy in the Pacific
Northwest.
Diane Zipper is a native Oregonian, and has worked
for the Renewable Northwest Project, non-profit organization advocating
for the development of renewable energy resources in the Pacific
Northwest, since 1998. Diane works on RNP's "Go Green"campaign, and
serves on the Board of Earth Share of Oregon, which promotes
environmental education and charitable giving through workplace giving
campaigns.
Diane will also briefly touch on green power
marketing (for those businesses that are buying green power, it's a
nice way to connect with your customers) - there are over 65,000
Oregonians buying green power, and most of them are in the Portland
area.
