Welcome to YWSE-Portland!
Summer Abbot
Summer spent much of 2008 traveling and living in Europe, observing and falling in love with a different way of life. Before that she spent a year as an AmeriCorps member, teaching people how to maximize their potential for fulfilling lives. She is an active part of many volunteer forces, her favorite job is being a camp counselor for Camp Starlight and serving with Young Women Social Entrepreneurs since 2007. Summer grew up on Maui, earned a BA from Portland State University, and is unsure of her future educational goals. In her free time she loves live theatre, live music, life! She is willing and ready to travel anywhere anytime.

Elizabeth Hoffecker
Elizabeth is the owner of Social Innovation Partners, a mission-driven consultancy she founded in 2006. She wants to shift attention and resources towards approaches that create sustainable wellbeing for individuals and communities, and uses her strategic thinking and analytical writing skills towards this goal. Her favorite volunteer gig to date involved serving as a data analyst and writer for visionPDX, the award-winning effort to involve 17,000 Portlanders in creating a vision for the city's future. Elizabeth is currently pursing her Masters in Urban Planning with a focus on International Development at MIT and is on leave from the Portland chapter, but looks forward to returning soon.
