Please join YWSE on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 7pm when we find
inspiration in a chat with Kristi Jo Lewis and Beth Kapsch, owners of
Global Sistergoods, Inc. and social entrepreneurs extraordinaire. Learn
how they took the step to start their own social entrepreneur company,
and how they made it work!
Global Sistergoods, Inc. is an online, fair trade marketplace for products made by women in over twenty developing countries. KJ and Beth started GSG in 2005 and have grown it over the past 4 years by learning and doing everything from marketing and communications to public relations. They do everything from web copy, blogging, social networking, and writing and sending press releases. They started from scratch and figured out how to find legal, accounting, and international help. They've also managed interns, contractors and ongoing projects. Finally, they've found a mentor to help them through it all. Come find out how they did it, what they wish they'd known when they started, and who they asked for help along the way.
