Opportunity for YWSE Members to join Net Impact in The Real Challenge Workshop

As a part of Net Impact's Service Corps initiative, join the Challenge Workshop. 

The Net Impact Challenge Workshop was created to give members an opportunity to contribute their skills and business expertise toward helping nonprofits and sustainable businesses achieve their goals. These focused brainstorming sessions are aimed at solving the problems faced by local, green, sustainable businesses. Each session is comprised of people with business, nonprofit, and specific domain expertise. Ideas generated in the workshops are followed up by a team to ensure that the results were satisfactory to the client. The workshop can lead to longer-term, pro-bono, consulting engagements, where members work with the client to further develop and implement solutions. 

Beneficial Outcomes:

-Help a small local, sustainable business get a leg-up

-Gain leadership development experience in a professional, nonprofit-consulting atmosphere

-Support the Net Impact South Florida Chapter in fostering sustainable business practices

-Network with like-minded people and organizations

For their first workshop, we are looking for individuals with marketing, advertising (particularly utilizing social media), finance, or management consulting backgrounds. However, all are welcome to participate.

Net Impact's inaugural Service Corp Project: The Real Challenge Workshop will take place Saturday, December 3rd. 

A"walk through" meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15th.

The Summit features speakers, panels, workshops and activities designed to help entrepreneurs, business owners and high-level executives succeed at a whole new level. The theme of this summit is "Risky Business: Going All In." It will be held at Gulfstream Village on Thursday & Friday, November 10th & 11th.

Sustainatopia is back! And so is the Revolution! YWSE Miami will be partnering up with the massive conference for good again as well as the Net Impact team to bring back the Revolution and support the movement for sustainability in our world. Be on the look out for who, what, where & when!

YWSE & Ashoka have dinner in Miami!!

The YWSE Miami group hosted a dinner with Guest Speaker from Ashoka, Lorena Garcia Duran on August 31, 2011.

Amongst the pasta and change-making conversation, YWSE-Miami members learned more about social entrepreneurship and how it is growing within the Miami community as well as shared interests from how to become an Ashoka Fellow to how they can participate in upcoming events.

New members joined our group through this experience. Our Chapter and the opportunities continue to grow for our members and the potential partnerships for YWSE. 

Thank you to Lorena Garcia who not only brought the Ashoka spirit to our group but delighted us with her smile and inspiring words.

Spring & Summer for the YWSE-Miami group!

 

May 15th's Brunch with guest speakers Chana Michelle Joubert, MindfulCITY.com and Jennifer Grace, JenniferGrace.com was a beautiful day with great inspiration and a large turnout for the Miami Chapter. New members and opportunities rising!

May 19th & 20th - YWSE-Miami was a partner in the Miami Empowered Woman Success Summit & Expo, www.empoweredwoman.info with hundreds of other business women in South Florida! 

 

 

May 23rd we experienced an amazing opportunity presented to us by the William James Foundation - WilliamJamesFoundation.org. A Conversation with WJF was a call with YWSE Members & WJF Director - Florence Navarro where opportunities to enter into the WJF social entrepreneurship business plan competition as candidates, amongst many other opportunities, were presented and open to questions, advice and conversation. 

Right after that on May 26th, YWSE-Miami partnered with Net Impact for GAB Goin' Green! A night of celebrating the green movement and local social entrepreneurs in Miami such as 305 Green Media, the Honey Project and GAB Studios!

July 1st brought us back together again for the next YWSE-Miami Gathering with guest speakers Tara Taglienti, Digitara.net and Felicia Hathcher, FeverishIceCream.com - 2 social enterprises that have been successful in their missions and creative with their impact!
