Young Women Social Entrepreneurs, the only global network and community for women social entrepreneurs, is thrilled to announce that Cyndi Suarez is joining our team as Executive Director.
Cyndi comes to YWSE with 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and strategy, development, and philanthropic advising. In both her studies and advisory work, Cyndi has focused on collaborative leadership, network design and strategic visioning. Most recently, Cyndi served as Executive Director of Northeast Action, a regional policy strategy center. There Cyndi helped coordinate networks of over 70,000 people across seven states, and helped raise over $3 million from grants and individuals. Additionally, she has been a strategic consultant to philanthropists and a convener of urban local economies. Cyndi graduated with a degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University, and she studied Feminist Theory at The New School in New York. She is based in Boston where she lives with her husband and two children.
Cyndi has deep experience with facilitating networks and inspiring people to work together for big change. She is currently writing a book titled Power Play on major concepts of power with a focus on the way power is enforced and transformed. Cyndi has a passion for working with women and social entrepreneurship, and is well poised to apply her years of experience developing grassroots networks and collaborative models with YWSE’s values-based approach to support and propel women entrepreneurs.
Sara Ellis Conant, Co-founder and Board members, shared, “We were excited to hire Cyndi with her experience leading membership organizations and her passion for building sustainable local economies through women's leadership. Cyndi is collaborative, strategic, and passionate--everything we were looking for in an ED and more!"
Already Cyndi has shown she has a keen ability to listen, build trust, and apply diplomacy. In her first six months she’s be focused on engaging members in strengthening a cohesive global YWSE network, building an active member- and donor- based financial resource culture, and piloting new offerings.
We’ll be hosting a virtual convening to introduce Cyndi next month where you’ll get to meet her, hear more about plans for YWSE, and share your thoughts and suggestions. You can also reach her at Cyndi@ywse.org.
Thank you for supporting YWSE, women social entrepreneurs, and women everywhere.
